Is Air Frying bad for you? Does it contain acrylamides?
Studies show that overall air frying your food is better for you: less saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol. When it comes to acrylamides, these are typically only found in starches. Acrylamides can be higher in an air fryer, but there are steps you can take to greatly reduce the amount and keep your food healthier. If you soak your potatoes before cooking this reduces the amount of starch which will lower the acrylamides. You will also need to cook your potatoes at a lower temperature.
If you’re concerned about toxins in your air fryer, be sure to buy an air fryer that uses stainless steel baskets or even a glass bowl. Here is a great article that rates air fryers based on toxins: https://detoxinista.com/air-fryer-review/
